Neff MS Summer Reading
As a Northside student, we ask that you read at least one novel of your choice this
summer. By spending time reading, you will expand your vocabulary, give yourself
examples of great writing, deepen your critical thinking skills, and build your focus and
imagination.. Happy Reading!
Summer Reading Is Required For Advanced ELA Students.
All other students are strongly encouraged to participate.
Select a middle grade chapter book of your choice from your home, public library, online, or anywhere you find
books! You may NOT select a picture book, a book that you have read, or a book that was taught in your
previous ELA classes. Summer reading novels need to be read by the end of August 2026. Students in
Advanced ELA class will demonstrate their understanding of their chosen book through an assignment or
project assigned by their teacher upon returning in the fall.
