CCA student creations up for sale

Construction Careers Academy students have been busy and they’re ready to show off and sell the projects that demonstrate their skills in the construction industry.

The school is hosting a free Tiny Homes Showcase Saturday, May 7 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. with activities for the whole family.

  • Tour student-built tiny homes
  • Get ideas on building your own tiny home
  • Live musical entertainment – food and drink
  • Kid’s Zone – hands on construction activities and games for kids
  • Visit with business partners and exhibitors

Student projects up for sale include

  • Custom backyard sheds – insulated with fully finished interior including bar sink and water heater
  • 128 square foot bunkhouse with kitchenette, small bath, and sleeping loft
  • Deer blinds
  • Outdoor kitchen
  • Outdoor garden planting station

Visitors will also be able to preview two of next year’s construction projects

  • The Skoolie – NISD school bus to tiny home conversion
  • The Palomino – CCA’s largest “tiny home” yet

Students contribute to these projects based on each strand of study at CCA: Architecture and Design, Construction Management, Applied Engineering, Carpentry, Electrical/HVAC or Plumbing/Pipe Fitting/Welding.

CCA is located on the Warren High School campus, 9411 W. Military Drive.
