District Statement on Lifetouch Photography Services
February 2026
Northside ISD is aware of the recent allegations circulating regarding Lifetouch, one of our third-party photography vendors. We want to assure our families that the safety of our students and the security of their personal information remain our highest priorities.
All outside vendors partnering with our district are subject to vetting processes. They are contractually required to maintain strict student data privacy practices and must remain in full compliance with all applicable state and federal laws, including the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).
We have reviewed the formal assurances provided by Lifetouch's leadership and the company’s categorical denial of these allegations, stating that the organization is in no way connected to any illegal or improper activity.
We respect the right of parents to make decisions regarding their child’s participation in school-related services. As a reminder:
- An opt-out process is available for families who do not wish for their students to participate in vendor-provided photography services.
- To exercise this option, please contact your school’s front office.
The District will continue to monitor the situation closely to ensure our high standards for student protection are met and to ensure our partnership with this vendor aligns with our community's values and safety expectations.
