NISD celebrates 7th consecutive year among Texas’ Top Visual Arts Programs

Northside ISD continues to set the standard for excellence in visual arts education, earning the Texas Art Education Association (TAEA) District of Distinction honor for an impressive seventh consecutive year.

The recognition places Northside ISD among the top 1.3 percent of visual arts programs in Texas and in an elite group of just 16 school districts statewide that have earned the distinction every year since the award was established.

“Northside ISD is incredibly proud of the dedication, creativity and talent of our visual arts students and the educators who inspire them every day,” said Interim Superintendent Jessica Palomares. “This seventh consecutive District of Distinction honor is a testament to the exceptional opportunities our students receive and the incredible work happening in our classrooms. Our students continue to show us what is possible when talent is nurtured, creativity is encouraged and students are given opportunities to shine. I couldn’t be prouder of our visual arts program and the accomplishments of our students.”

Each year, TAEA recognizes districts that demonstrate an exceptional commitment to providing meaningful and innovative visual arts opportunities for students. The rigorous selection process considers multiple areas of a district’s visual arts program, including student experiences, community service, and opportunities for students to showcase their artwork through community exhibitions.

The seventh consecutive recognition highlights Northside ISD’s ongoing commitment to ensuring students have opportunities to explore their creativity, develop their talents and make a lasting impact through the visual arts.
