Twenty-five teams representing 16 NISD middle school campuses competed in a FIRST LEGO League robotics qualifier event on March 2 at Straus Middle School. A qualifier event will be held March 23 at Paul Taylor Field House for 44 elementary teams.
FIRST LEGO League introduces science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) through fun, exciting hands-on learning.
Student teams this year were challenged with the MASTERPIECE theme to think about the creativity around us.
A total of 23 teams from both qualifier events will move to the Northside ISD Robotics Championship to be held on April 6 at Bernal Middle School. The middle school and elementary teams will be in separate brackets.
