A Legacy of Excellence and Innovation—Beyond Zip Codes

For more than 75 years, Northside ISD has been the premier choice for families across our community. The District continues to build on its proud tradition of Excellence Without Boundaries, ensuring every student—regardless of background or zip code—has access to opportunities without limits.

As the fourth-largest school district in Texas, Northside ISD offers a world of possibilities, including full-day PreK, elementary STEM labs, dual language programs, dual credit and Advanced Placement courses, magnet programs, Career and Technical Education pathways, and comprehensive special education services.

Growing Magnet School Opportunities

Students in grades 6–12 can choose from a diverse array of specialized magnet schools designed to align with their interests and future goals.

With 12 magnet schools—and a 13th launching in the 2026–27 school year—students have more opportunities than ever to shape their educational journey. Northside ISD currently offers eight magnet high schools and four magnet middle schools, with a fifth middle school magnet opening at Stinson Middle School. This new program will feature a specialized curriculum in Sports Medicine and Exercise Science, blending academics, physical activity, and career exploration.

Beyond the Classroom

While academics remain the cornerstone of Northside ISD, extracurricular activities play a vital role in building strong school communities and fostering student engagement.

At the elementary level, students can participate in activities such as robotics, solar cars, art club, Spanish, Kindness Club, choir, student leadership, LEGO League, coding club, strings, and more.

Middle school students have access to a wide range of opportunities, including fine arts (visual arts, band, choir, theater, dance, mariachi, and orchestra), athletics (football, volleyball, basketball, golf, soccer, track, and tennis), Career and Technical Education programs, and enrichment and leadership activities such as robotics, esports, solar cars, gardening, coding, chess, drama, cooking, and student leadership.

At the high school level, students thrive in rigorous academic programs while preparing for college and careers. Through Advanced Placement, Dual Credit, OnRamps, Gifted and Talented, AVID, and other advanced learning pathways, students are challenged to think critically and grow with confidence. High school students also enjoy robust fine arts, athletics, CTE programs, and enrichment opportunities including robotics, esports, solar cars, JROTC, dual language programs, and leadership development.

A Bright Future for Every NISD Student

Whether just beginning in PreK or preparing to graduate, students in Northside ISD benefit from a vast constellation of choices and opportunities—each designed to help them reach their fullest potential.
