The energy was electric this past Saturday at the Spring 2025 NISD Esports Championships, where a day of fierce competition and thrilling victories brought the season to an unforgettable close.
Hundreds of talented students from middle and high schools across the district displayed their skills, strategy, and teamwork in front of an enthusiastic crowd. After weeks of anticipation following the Spring Qualifiers, champions were officially crowned in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and the newly introduced Marvel Rivals.
In the high-speed, strategy-packed world of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, the title of champion goes to:
- Folks Middle School, led by campus sponsor Jonathan Lingsch
- Brandeis High School, led by campus sponsor Toby Brown
Meanwhile, Marvel Rivals made a powerful debut with action-packed gameplay and incredible team coordination. The champions of this new fan-favorite are:
- Holmes / NSITE High School, led by campus sponsor Joshua Mullenary
The success of the Spring 2025 Championships reflects the dedication and passion of our student competitors, the tireless efforts of staff and volunteers, and the overwhelming support from families and fans across Northside ISD.
We are proud of our studentsโ accomplishments and excited for what is ahead. As we look toward the 2025โ2026 school year, NISD remains committed to growing our esports program and providing students with meaningful opportunities to build critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and creativity through competitive gaming.
