Project ACORN is a club that provides students with hands-on opportunities to learn how the natural world around them functions as well as how they play a role in how it is impacted and sustained. Most of our lessons are taught through the use of our campus gardens which have been built by our Oak Hills Terrace Community.
Examples of some of the concepts we teach are migration patterns and what positively and negatively impacts animal populations through migration, how and why pollination is a necessity, benefits of native plants, the effects of human impact, and how to sustain a healthy ecosystem.
Our goal is for our students to not only acquire valuable science knowledge, but to also become advocates for their environment.
