Hello Trailblazers! I am honored to serve as the Principal of Ott Elementary and proud to have dedicated my 22-year career in education to Northside ISD. Throughout my journey, I have had the privilege of serving students and families as a classroom teacher, school librarian, associate principal, and now principal. Each of these experiences has shaped who I am as an educator and strengthened my belief in the power of relationships, community, and public education.

My career began at Evers Elementary, where I taught second and third grades. After becoming certified as a School Librarian, I had the wonderful opportunity to help open Lieck Elementary and served its students, staff, and families as the school librarian for ten and a half years. I later joined Cody Elementary as Associate Principal, where I served for two and a half years. I then had the opportunity to return to Lieck Elementary as Associate Principal before beginning the next chapter of my leadership journey as Principal of Ott Elementary.

I believe strongly in lifelong learning and have been fortunate to continue my own education throughout my career. I earned a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies from Texas State University and a Master of Science in School Library and Information Science from the University of North Texas. As my passion for educational leadership grew, I continued my studies at Trinity University, where I earned a Master of Education in School Leadership.

I am deeply passionate about public education and believe that schools are at the heart of their communities. I also believe that strong, trusting relationships among students, families, educators, and the community are essential to student success. As Principal of Ott Elementary, I am committed to creating a school culture where every child feels safe, valued, supported, and empowered to achieve their greatest potential.

The safety and well-being of our students are at the center of the work we do each day. I am fortunate to serve alongside a dedicated staff that is committed to providing a warm, welcoming, and engaging environment where students are encouraged to learn, grow, take risks, discover their strengths, and thrive.

I consider it a tremendous privilege to lead the Ott-Some Trailblazer community. I look forward to continuing to build meaningful partnerships with our students, families, staff, and community as we work together to ensure every child has opportunities to learn, succeed, and shine.
