NISD's mission is to provide all NISD students who are eligible to ride the bus a safe, efficient, nurturing environment that supports the educational and extra-curricular objectives of the district.
Northside ISD continues to enforce its “No Shots, No School” policy. Texas law requires all public school children have current immunizations in order to attend class.

Mission Statement: We will transform the Ott learning experience to empower all students to achieve their greatest potential.
Thank you for actively participating in your child’s education. It is important that your child sees you proactive and involved in their education. Our teachers truly appreciate your support and look forward to working closely with you this year.
Campus safety is always a top priority at Ott Elementary and we will continue to enforce safety guidelines for this academic year. All visitors will need to enter into our security lobby to check-in as a visitor. A valid picture I.D. will be scanned through our Raptor system prior to receiving a visitor's badge and to entering our building at all times. The purpose of our Raptor system is to ensure that adult visitors on campus do not pose a threat to any students. The system checks visitor information with national databases that monitor sex offenders. All visitors MUST wear the badge while on campus. Northside ISD believes student safety is top priority as well. Families can learn more about what measures are in place for this academic year by visiting the Northside ISD's safety website.
Last year our 80's/90's retro theme - "It's G.L.O.W. Time ~ Growing and Learning the Ott-some Way" theme encompassed the strong foundation we've established here at Ott with our commitment to academic and social-emotional support for all of our Trailblazers. Fortunately because all hands were on deck, our campus data concluding the 22-23 academic year showed gains throughout all of our grade levels in multiple subjects. That's a lot to celebrate! Kudos and big hugs to to all of our Trailblazers and staff for supporting all of our students' achievements.
Thank you to our Ott Branding Committee for developing our school theme for the 23-24 year ~"Ott Level Up". The theme supports last year's theme by ensuring all of our stakeholders are committed to refining our successes into greatness by "LEVELING IT UP"! Our Ott spirit shirts reflect this year's theme and can be purchased in our school office. Youth and adult sizes are $15.00 and adult sizes. XL and XXL sizes will be sold for $18.00. Cash and check only please. We encourage our students and staff to wear "Motivational" shirts on Mondays, spirit shirts on Fridays and "Ott College and Career Bound - OCCB" shirts on the last Wednesday of every month.
We urge all of our families to join PTA this year; membership is only $10.00. Our PTA Executive Board is an amazing group of dedicated volunteers who work tirelessly to support our students and campus. Did you know that PTA Membership comes with no obligations? Membership doesn't mean you have to volunteer or attend meetings (though we would love for you to do both). PTA membership dues allow the PTA to provide many benefits to the students and teachers at Ott including student field trips, supplemental teaching supplies, and free member events. Membership with the Texas/National PTA entitles you to discounts at several businesses. You can view the list of member offers at the following websites: https://www.txpta.org/member-perks
In addition to being a Professional Learning Community, we will continue to work collaboratively with all stakeholders to ensure high levels of learning for all of our students. I look forward to this academic year and working closely in building relationships with our students and parents. Please introduce yourselves to myself and our Associate Principal Mrs. Delagarza in the days and weeks ahead!
Lastly, as a reminder the academic day begins promptly at 7:45 a.m. and dismissal is at 3:00 p.m. Students arriving after 7:45 a.m. will be considered tardy.
I am looking forward to an Ott-some year with our students, parents, and staff! #OttLevelUp #Trailblazers
Kind regards,
Principal Bueno

Howdy Trailblazers!
My name is Alyssa Delagarza, and I am the Associate Principal of Ott Elementary!
I am a proud product of NISD, having attended all Northside schools growing up here in San Antonio. I have two young children, and they plan to attend Northside schools. My educational career has been serving as a 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade teacher, all of which were in NISD.
I received a bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with a focus on Math and Science from Texas A&M University at College Station and a master’s degree in Education Administration from Texas A&M University at Commerce.
I entered the world of education because I truly believe that we can make a difference in the world by shaping the young minds of our students. By providing a structured, yet nurturing environment, I encourage all children to reach their maximum potential.
I love working with the staff, students and families here at Ott Elementary!!! I cannot wait to see what this year has in store!
Thanks and Gig'em,
AP Delagarza
