As Principal, I assist in assigning work responsibilities and duties to faculty and staff. I also anticipate the needs for the campus and help plan for the future.
I look forward to building strong relationships with parents, students and community partners. I am committed to ensuring that every Rayburn Middle School student receives the very best education possible, and that all students and their families realize they are an important part of our success.
Please know that my door is always open. Feel free to stop in, call, or email me to discuss any concerns, suggestions or ideas to help make this year the best year yet!
As principal, I have set the following goals for myself:
1. Create a safe and orderly environment at Rayburn.
2. Create a climate of high expectations for success.
3. Be an instructional leader to staff and students.
4. Have a clear and focused mission.
5. Create an opportunity for students to learn and time on task.
6. Monitor student progress
7. Create positive home and school relations
The Associate Principal also serves as the Campus Behavior Coordinator. They can be reached by email at robert.alvarado@nisd.net or by phone at (210) 397-2158.
Robert Alvarado received his bachelor's degree from Texas A&M University - Corpus Christi and his Master's degree in Educational Administration from the University of Texas at San Antonio. Birds Up! He began his educational career with the Northside School District in 2003 where he taught 7th and 8th grade history for 13 years before becoming an assistant principal at Folks Middle School in 2016. He was fortunate to become part of the Rayburn Raider family in 2019 as the associate principal. Mr. Alvarado believes that every student deserves a quality education in a safe and engaging environment. His role as a campus administrator is to provide that environment and help students achieve their fullest potential. He is excited to welcome back each and every Raider for the 2022-23 school year. Go Raiders!
