PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
Dear Rayburn Families,
The start of the school year is just around the corner, and we are excited to welcome our students back to campus! Before the first day of school, we have a couple of important events to help you and your child prepare for a successful year.
Join us for our Annual Back-to-School Bash on Saturday, August 2nd, from 8:30 AM to 11:30 AM. This is a great opportunity to access important resources—including on-site vaccinations—and to connect with our school community.
We also invite all families to Meet the Teacher Night on Friday, August 8th, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Students will be able to walk their schedules and meet the amazing staff here at Rayburn.
As a reminder, school uniforms will not be required this year. Instead, we ask families to review the Student Dress Code included below in this newsletter to ensure students are dressed appropriately for learning.
We will also continue our "Away for the Day" technology policy, which applies to cell phones, earbuds, headphones, tablets, and other personal devices. These items should remain stored in student backpacks from 8:30 AM to 3:55 PM. We strongly encourage that any non-essential items stay at home to support an uninterrupted learning environment.
Finally, the district is making a change to the student Chromebook policy. Students will no longer be issued personal Chromebooks. Instead, we will move to a classroom set model, where Chromebooks stay in the classroom for instructional use. This shift supports student focus and ensures long-term sustainability of our technology resources.
If you have any questions about the upcoming school year, please don’t hesitate to contact us. We are here to help!
We can’t wait to see our students back on campus and look forward to an incredible year ahead!

Student Chromebooks Information
Beginning this 2025-26 school year, Northside ISD has determined that student Chromebook access will shift to a class-set model. Meaning Chromebooks will remain on campus and within the classroom, rather than going home with each student. This decision is driven by our commitment to enhancing student focus and learning in the classroom, as well as ensuring the long-term sustainability of technology.
We aim to provide the most effective learning environment for all students. While technology is an invaluable tool, we've observed that a model with devices assigned to students can sometimes lead to increased distractions for students or device management issues, such as lost chargers, uncharged or broken devices, hindering their ability to fully engage with classroom lessons.
This shift to a class-set model is a strategic move that will allow us to implement significant cost savings related to device life-cycle replacement. These savings are imperative to ensure long-term funding of our technology programs.
As always students are welcome to bring their personal Chromebook/laptop to school with parental permission. As with all personal electronic devices, the school/district does not assume responsibility for lost, stolen, or damaged items.
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact our office.
Thank you for your continued support.
