PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE

What a fantastic first week back! Our students were busy learning their way around campus, moving from class to class, and diving right into engaging lessons. The energy in our classrooms was incredible, and we’re excited to keep that momentum going!

A quick reminder about our “Away-for-the-Day” technology policy: phones and devices must be powered off and in backpacks from 8:30 a.m. – 3:55 p.m. This year, backpacks will be placed in a designated area in each classroom. If a student struggles with this expectation, a staff member may collect the device and parents will be contacted.

We also appreciate your help with our student dress code. We’ve moved away from uniforms, but students still need to follow guidelines. Please help us by checking for shorts that are too short, tops that show midriffs, and pants worn below the waist.

Thanks for your support in making Rayburn a positive, respectful, and focused place for learning.

Attendance Matters

Welcome back, families! We hope you all had a wonderful and refreshing summer. As we kick off a new school year, we want to emphasize the importance of consistent school attendance. Every day your child is in school is a vital opportunity for them to learn, grow, and connect with their peers and teachers. Regular attendance ensures they don't miss out on crucial lessons, build strong academic foundations, and develop essential social-emotional skills that will benefit them for years to come.

When children attend school consistently, they not only stay on track academically but also develop valuable routines and a sense of belonging within our school community. We understand that absences are sometimes unavoidable, but we encourage you to prioritize your child's presence in the classroom whenever possible. Your partnership in ensuring strong attendance is key to their success and a fulfilling school year

ASTHMA ACTION PLANS

If your student has asthma and will be in sports, they are required to have an asthma action plan and an inhaler. Students are permitted to self carry their inhaler if indicated on the asthma plan.
If your student has asthma and you have indicated they have asthma on their emergency card, please submit an updated asthma plan as soon as possible.

Thank You Community Partners

How lucky are we to have amazing community partners and friends that love us?

Thank you to John's Kids, Chapel Hill, Mighty Fortress and our newest friends at Shipley's for making Back to School awesome!

Raider Success Assemblies

This week, our students received important information about both classroom and campus expectations and routines. On Thursday, we held our Success Assemblies, where we reviewed all campus expectations and discussed what it takes for our students to thrive at Rayburn.

I’ve attached the information we shared during these assemblies for your reference. Please continue encouraging your student to be on their best behavior and to follow all Rayburn expectations. By working together, we can ensure your child has a successful and rewarding school year.
