PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
We had a fantastic first week of MAP Math testing. Our students showed great focus and determination, and we’re proud of their hard work. Next up is MAP ELA testing on Wednesday, so please help your students get a good night’s rest and come ready to do their best.
A quick reminder, Monday is Labor Day, and school will be closed. We look forward to seeing everyone bright and early on Tuesday for another great week of learning!
Thank you for your continued support.

Esports Fall Kickoff
Every year, NISD Esports hosts a fall kickoff event. This event gives students interested in Esports an opportunity to meet their Esports coaches/sponsors, play games with fellow NISD students, and connect with gaming and Esports organizations in the city.
This year, the Fall Kickoff will be held on Saturday, September 13th at the Northside Activity Center from 9am-12pm. We encourage everyone to attend to see what Esports is all about and how much fun the students are having.
If your child is interested in participating, please see the attached email. They can also see
Ms. Acevedo in B223 or Mrs. Gerry in B214.
**If you do plan on attending with your child, it is encouraged to get there early since a cross country meet is also happening at Gus Stadium at the same time. Parking might be a bit crazy.
Looking forward to seeing you there!

Questions/Preguntas: Mrs. Diaz, Family Liaison 397-3123 martha.diaz@nisd.net
Title 1 Family Survey
The Title 1 Family Survey is one of the most important ways for us to hear directly from you about your child’s education. Your feedback helps us:
- Understand Your Needs - The survey tells us what is working well and where we can improve.
- Shape School Programs - Your input guides how we use Title 1 funds to support students- such as tutoring, family events, and resources for learning at home.
- Strengthen Family - School Partnerships - The more we know about how you feel supported, the better we can work together to help every child succeed.
- Meet Federal Requirements - The survey is part of our responsibility to ensure every family has a voice in the programs we have planned.
When you take 5 minutes to complete the survey, you are helping us make decisions that directly affect your child’s learning experience.

Cross Country
Our first race is Saturday, September 13. There's still time to join. Remember: Pasta Night each Friday before races. Practices are 645am each morning, and also Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons at 4pm. This is for 7th and 8th graders only. Students should see Mr. Taylor for more information.
Tuesday Studio Time till 6pm
Students (in art classes or not) are able to enjoy time in the Rayburn Art Studio. Students must have their own transportation home. There is no snack provided but feel free to bring one for after school.
Attendance Matters
We want to emphasize the critical importance of regular school attendance for your student's academic and social development. Consistent daily attendance allows students to build a strong foundation of knowledge, develop essential social skills, and establish the routine and discipline necessary for future success. When students are absent, they are at risk of missing critical instruction and falling behind, which can make it challenging to catch up.
To ensure our records are accurate and complete, we kindly request that you provide a written note upon your child's return to school following an absence. This documentation is essential for properly excusing the absence. Please also be aware that a partial-day absence is recorded as a full-day absence.
We value our partnership with you in your child's education and appreciate your commitment to their success. Thank you for your cooperation and for helping us provide the best possible learning environment for all students.
You're Invited!
Come out and support Rayburn Athletics and our campus in participating in the San Antonio FC soccer game. The school with the most participants at the game, will win the school supplies donated for that weekend's game. Portion of each ticket will go back to Rayburn Athletics. Great way to have family time and support our campus.
