PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
Thank you for a great round of MAP testing. Our students worked hard, and we couldn’t have done it without your support. As we move forward, I want to remind everyone that attendance matters. It is vital for students to be at school every day when they are healthy so they can receive the instruction and support they need to be successful.
We also had an exciting week in athletics! Girls volleyball kicked off their season Thursday, and they did an excellent job working as a team and competing every second they were on the court. Tomorrow morning, football begins their season. Good luck to our Raider athletes!
Thank you for all you do to support our students. Have a wonderful weekend.
Title I Family Survey - Your Voice Matters!
Please take a moment to complete the Title I Family Survey asap or no later than September 30th. It is quick and is one of the most important ways for us to hear directly from you about your child's education. We appreciate your time in completing this important survey.
Annual Screenings
Screenings will be conducted throughout the school year. If you have any questions or concerns please contact the Rayburn Clinic.
Attendance Matters
Consistent attendance is key to student success—both academically and socially. Each day in the classroom provides valuable learning opportunities and helps students strengthen important connections with teachers and peers. As we wrap up week four, we’ve noticed that illnesses are beginning to circulate on campus.
If your child is unwell and needs to miss school, please send a note with them when they return. This helps us keep accurate attendance records and ensures proper documentation.
Please also keep in mind our policy on partial-day absences: for a health-related absence to be excused, your child must be present for at least part of the school day, even if they have a doctor’s appointment. Partial-day absences are recorded as full-day absences, so every moment in the classroom makes a difference!
Thank you for your continued support in helping your student attend school regularly.
Learning how the body works
7th grade science has been learning about the digestive, respiratory, and circulatory systems this week. On Tuesday we simulated how food is digested (kids with the bags) and on Friday we discovered how our circulatory and respiratory work together when we exercise.
Raider of the Week: Celebrating Character
Rayburn believes that a strong school community is built on a foundation of excellent character. To recognize and foster the positive behaviors that make our school a great place to learn and grow, we are excited to announce our Raiders of the Week!
The RAIDER of the Week Initiative is designed to celebrate students who exemplify the core values we cherish. Throughout the week, staff members are on the lookout for students who demonstrate one of the six key RAIDER behaviors.
Please help us celebrate these RAIDER accomplishments, and talk to your child about how they engage in these behaviors at home and school.
