PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE

We’ve had another great week at Rayburn. Our classrooms have been filled with engaging lessons, collaboration, and excitement for learning. Today, we also celebrated our Attendance Incentive Winners, the classes in each grade level with the best attendance. Congratulations to those students and teachers. As a reminder, daily attendance plays a major role in student success, both academically and in future endeavors. We encourage all of our students to be at school every day they are able. Every day truly matters.

This weekend, we also want to wish our girls’ volleyball teams the best of luck as they compete in the NISD Middle School Tournament. You’ve worked hard all season, now it’s time to finish strong. Go Lady Raiders!

Lastly, we’re excited to invite all families to our first Family Night on Tuesday, October 21st from 5–7 p.m. We ask that parents and families attend with their students so we can enjoy all of the fun activities together. It’s going to be a great evening of connection and community.

Have a wonderful weekend, everyone.

Halloween

Rayburn students will be allowed to wear Halloween costumes to school on Friday, October 31st! We’re excited to see everyone’s creativity while keeping our focus on learning and safety throughout the day.

Please note the following guidelines for all costumes:

  • No masks or face paint
  • No props or accessories (such as swords, wands, or toy weapons)
  • No candy allowed at school
  • Costumes must be school appropriate, including:
    • No fake blood
    • No sexually suggestive outfits
    • Non-violent themes only
    • Costumes must not impede learning or restrict the safe flow of traffic in hallways

If you have any questions about whether a costume is appropriate, please contact a campus administrator before Friday, October 31st. This helps ensure all approvals are made in advance and that learning can continue smoothly on that day.

We can’t wait to celebrate a fun and safe Halloween at Rayburn!
