PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE

It has been hard to believe that we are entering the final four days of the school year. To say this year has been eventful would certainly be an understatement. There have been so many incredible moments shared with our students, staff, families, and community that it would be impossible to list them all. I am proud of the progress and achievements we have accomplished together, and I truly believe that the collaboration between our school and community is what makes Rayburn such a special place.

This week, during our final Principal Coffee Chat of the year, I shared with those in attendance that I will not be returning next school year. After much thought and consideration, my family and I have made the difficult decision to move out of state.

When I arrived at Rayburn four years ago, I stepped into a role within a community that I immediately grew to appreciate and value. I made a promise to myself then that whenever the time came for me to leave, this campus and community would be even better than when I arrived. There were already many great things happening at Rayburn, and my goal was simply to help build upon that strong foundation. My hope is that, through collaboration with all of you, we were able to accomplish that goal together.

I have complete confidence that what has been built here will continue to grow stronger each year. The success of this campus has always been driven by the people who make up this community, our students, staff, families, and supporters.

I care deeply about this community, and that will never change. You have helped me grow as a person, educator, and leader more than you will ever know. I will truly miss being a part of the Rayburn community, and I wish each of you nothing but the very best moving forward.

Thank you for four unforgettable years filled with growth, hard work, and discovery. Always continue to Connect, Collaborate, and Conquer.

Have a wonderful weekend, and we will see everyone bright and early on Monday as we finish this school year strong.

Mindfulness Club Wrap‑Up: Vision Boards for the Future

Students wrapped up our Mindfulness Club this week by creating vision boards to express their purpose and commitment to their future. This reflective activity encouraged them to think deeply about what truly matters to them—their values, their dreams, and the direction they want their lives to move in. Each vision board now serves as a personal guide, helping students stay focused, inspired, and aligned with their goals and sense of purpose.

The vision boards beautifully showcased a wide range of aspirations, empowering future chefs, veterinary students, young explorers eager to discover space and new possibilities, and strong‑minded young women determined to shape their own paths. Their creativity and intention made this project especially meaningful.

A heartfelt thank‑you to Alan Ramirez, Isabel Martinez, Carlos Aguillar, Samatha Tamez, and Mercedez Oviedo for their participation, enthusiasm, and for making this club truly special.

Body Systems Gallery Walk: A Creative and Engaging Finish to the Week

On Friday, our students wrapped up the week with a Body Systems Gallery Walk. This hands‑on activity gave them the opportunity to demonstrate to their peers the knowledge and artistic skills they have developed throughout the school year. Students proudly showcased their projects, highlighting not only their understanding of human body systems but also their creativity and confidence.

Their presentations reflected strong preparation for high school and a genuine commitment to their learning. It was inspiring to see students engaged, enthusiastic, and eager to share their work with others. We are still going strong and staying engaged as we close out the year.
Thank you Ms. Martinez and Ms. Barbour for you excellent work with 8th graders
