Mission Statement: Transform learning experiences and inspire Huskies to lead by example.
Before joining Northside, I served as Director of the Children's Enrichment Center in San Antonio. Prior to that, I spent several years as a classroom teacher and math facilitator in Montgomery County, Maryland. For more than twenty years, I have been passionate about education and committed to helping students and educators reach their fullest potential.
I earned my Master's degree in Elementary Education from American University in Washington, D.C., and later completed a second Master's degree in Educational Leadership from The University of Texas at San Antonio.
School leadership is both my profession and my passion. As I begin my tenth year as a school administrator, I remain inspired by the opportunity to help students thrive, support teachers in their important work, and foster a culture of excellence. I am grateful to lead alongside the talented educators of Scarborough, whose dedication and commitment to children will continue to inspire me every day.
I firmly believe that strong relationships are the foundation of a successful school community. Families, staff, and community partners each play a vital role in ensuring our students' academic, social, and emotional growth. By working together, we can create a supportive and enriching environment where every child feels valued, challenged, and empowered to succeed.
I look forward to the year ahead and to partnering with you as we continue to transform learning experiences and inspire every Husky to lead by example.
Please do not hesitate to reach out with questions, ideas, or concerns. Together, we will remain focused on what matters mostโevery child's success. It is an honor to be a Husky.

Hello Huskies! My name is Kara Beavers, and I am proud to be the Associate Principal at Scarborough Elementary. I am a native Texan, San Antonian, and alumni of Northside having graduated from John Marshall High School. I am blessed with the opportunity to continue to give back to the district that gave me a love for learning.
I received my bachelor and graduate degrees from the University of Texas at San Antonio. My career in education began in 2004 at NISD. I taught second and third grade at Brauchle Elementary and second and fourth grade here at Scarborough.
I am proud and honored to continue to serve the Scarborough community in this role. I look forward to a year of learning, growth, and new adventures.
