Sandra Luna - Principal
Welcome! My name is Sandra Luna, and I am the proud Principal here at Scarborough Elementary School. I am originally from Iowa and received my undergraduate degree from the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls.

I have taught in NISD since 1998 and have experience teaching both third and fifth grades. After receiving my masters from Houston Baptist University with a degree in Curriculum and Instruction, I became a Gifted and Talented teacher in 2003. I was a full-time Gifted and Talented/Enrichment Specialist for 13 years in NISD. Upon earning my Educational Leadership degree through the University of Texas at San Antonio, I became a Vice Principal in NISD first at Behlau Elementary and then at Leon Valley Elementary.

I feel very blessed and honored to now be at Evelyn Scarborough Elementary School. I am thrilled to be a husky and know this year will be amazing!

Hello Husky Family! Excitement, enthusiasm, and pride skim the surface in expressing how I feel to be your Associate Principal. The legacy and future of Scarborough Elementary exude a passion for learning and foundation in the community that I am so honored to be a part of.

I am a born and raised Texan, originating in the DFW area but also having roots in Abilene, Lubbock, and now San Antonio.

I received my undergraduate degree as well as my Masters of Education in Elementary Education from Texas Tech University. I also received a Masters of Education from the University of Texas in Arlington in Curriculum and Instruction along with my principal certification. My experiences in education since 2008 have spanned various states and countries (West Virginia, Mississippi, and of course, Texas as well as the Dominican Republic) ranging from teaching kindergarten, 1st grade, 3rd grade, and 5th grade as well as serving as a campus Reading Specialist which have brought me to this point in my career, serving as a Husky leader.

Relationships are a large part of who I am as an educator, friend, advocate, and mentor. It is my hope to build quality relationships with each of you as my partner(s) in building lasting learning experiences for all members of the Scarborough family.
