At Scarborough Elementary, we provide gifted and talented services that accomplish many goals for our higher level learning students.  The points that we focus on for identified gifted and talented students are:

  • Providing an enriching program and environment to stimulate the talents of GT students

  • Developing a healthy self-concept and enabling students to grow socially and emotionally with their peers

  • Providing opportunities for creative problem-solving around real world issues

  • Creating an atmosphere in which students can interact with their intellectual peers

  • Delving into principles of divergent thinking and fostering higher order thinking skills of analysis, synthesis, and evaluation

Students are assessed in various ways to determine qualification for the gifted and talented program.

This year's levy to fund maintenance and operations expenditures exceeds last year's maintenance and operations tax levy.
Northside Independent School District ADOPTED A TAX RATE THAT WILL RAISE MORE TAXES FOR MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS THAN LAST YEAR'S TAX RATE.
THE TAX RATE WILL EFFECTIVELY BE RAISED BY 1.05 PERCENT AND WILL RAISE TAXES FOR MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS ON A $100,000 HOME BY APPROXIMATELY $30.00.
