  • Transitioning from guided Cornell Notes to independent synthesis; utilizing the "Summary" section for metacognition.
  • Moving beyond basic questions to Level 2 and 3 Inquiry; students begin facilitating their own Tutorial groups.
  • Introduction to formal speeches; practicing eye contact, projection, and professional posture.
  • Analyzing GPA from 9th grade; setting SMART goals for the 10th-grade academic year (short and long-term)
  • Utilizing interest inventories (like Naviance or O*NET); researching educational requirements for specific careers.
  • Writing a career research paper; focusing on citing sources and structured bibliography.
  • Engaging in seminars focused on workplace ethics or global issues.
  • Introduction to the format of the PSAT 10 and Pre-ACT; practicing "pacing" strategies.

Ongoing Activities

  • Curating the best examples of WICOR from the year; reflecting on academic growth.
  • Strategizing 11th-grade schedules (Honors/AP/Dual Credit) to maximize college competitiveness.
  • Identifying community service opportunities to build a holistic student profile.
  • Final Learning Log entries focusing on "Who am I as a student?" and "Where am I going?"
