-Proper Disposal Techniques

 

Unit: 3

-Academic and Technical Skills in Automotive Paint and Refinishing (2.5 Weeks)

-Technical writing for work orders

-Tools, Equipment, and Materials (3 Weeks)

-Surface Preparation and  Refinishing (5 Weeks)

-Inspect and identify types of finishes

-The stages of refinishing (Primer, dust removal, sealer)

 

-Color Matching

 

-Identifying plastic and metal parts in refinishing.

 

-Prepping plastic and metal parts in refinishing.

-Clean and Prep work surfaces

 

-mix primer, primer-surfacer, or primer-sealer

 

-Apply primers, finishes, and sealers.

 

-Apply stone chip resistant coating

 

Unit: 6

-Spray Guns: Preparation and Procedures (2 Weeks)

-inspect, clean, and determine condition of spray guns, spray environment, and related equipment such as air hoses, regulators, air lines, and air source

 

-select spray gun setup, including fluid needle, nozzle, and cap, for product being applied

 

- operation of pressure spray equipment

 

Fall CCA

- Unit: 6

-apply decals, transfers, tapes, woodgrains, and pinstripes such as painted and taped;

 

-sand, buff, and polish fresh or existing finish to remove defects as required;

 

-clean vehicle interior, exterior, and glass;

 

-clean body openings such as door jambs and edges;

 

-remove overspray; and

- complete quality control using a checklist.
