Unit 1: Employment Skills in LPSCS

(2 Week)

-technical knowledge and skills required to pursue a career in the Law, Public Safety, Corrections, and Security Career Cluster

-technical knowledge and skills related to the student's occupational objective 

-strengths and weaknesses in technical skill proficiency

-critical feedback provided by the supervisor 

Unit 8: Training Station Orientation

(3 Weeks)

-verbal, nonverbal, and written communication skills in creating, expressing, and interpreting information and ideas, including technical terminology and information

-technical concepts, and vocabulary when analyzing information and following directions

-occupational tasks using technical materials and informational texts such as Internet websites

Fall CCA

Unit 9: O*Net Career Exploration

(2 Week)

-technical knowledge and skills

 

-professional portfolio reflecting items such as work quality and productivity technical skills 

 

-problem solving creativity and innovation 

 

-communication skills teamwork and flexibility

 

-initiative and self-direction accountability and integrity

 

-attendance licensures or certifications, including awards and scholarships

 

-extended learning experiences, community service, and active participation in career and technical student and professional organizations

 

-abstract of technical competencies mastered during the practicum updated and current resume samples of work and evaluation from the practicum supervisor

 

Unit 10: Workplace Portfolios

(2 Weeks)

-technical knowledge and skills

 

-professional portfolio reflecting items such as work quality and productivity technical skills 

-problem solving creativity and innovation 

 

-communication skills teamwork and flexibility

 

-initiative and self-direction accountability and integrity

-abstract of technical competencies mastered during the practicum updated and current resume samples of work and evaluation from the practicum supervisor

Unit 11: Career Pathways

-distinguish between constitutional law, case law, statutory law, and administrative law

 

-differences in processing a misdemeanor and felony cases

 

-describe and interpret the impact of the grand jury process on court proceedings regarding criminal scenarios

 

-relationship of the U.S. Constitution and the Bill of Rights upon the court

 

-describe the impact of public opinion and the legislature on the U.S. court system
