• techniques for enforcing domestic violence laws

• identifying dynamics and indicators of domestic violence

• procedures for responding to and diffusing domestic violence incidents

• legal authority and arrest procedures in domestic violence cases

• types of protective orders and law enforcement responsibilities

• Use of the force continuum in simulated law enforcement scenarios

Unit 13: Custody, Transport & Interviews (3 Weeks)

• transporting adults, juveniles, and non-custodial persons

Unit 8: Civil Process & Alcohol Laws (2 Weeks)

 

• civil law enforcement procedures (writs, warrants, summons)

 

• limits on authority and entry during civil process service

• definition of alcoholic beverages

 

• legal vs. illegal alcohol sales and consumption

Unit 9: DWI Enforcement (2 Weeks)

• indicators of impaired driving

• reasonable suspicion and probable cause for DWI stops

• standardized field sobriety tests (HGN, Walk-and-Turn, One-Leg Stand)

• detection and apprehension of intoxicated drivers

• alcohol absorption, distribution, and elimination

• evidence collection and report writing for DWI cases

• preparing for court testimony related to DWI arrests

Unit 11: Crowd Control & Public Order (3 Weeks)

Unit 16: Disaster Response, HazMat & Terrorism (3 Weeks)
