Unit 4: Oxy-Fuel Cutting (4 Week)

safe handling of compressed gases

-proper set-up procedures for the oxy-fuel process

Unit 5: Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) (3 Weeks)

-shielded metal arc welding principles

-proper set-up procedure for shielded metal arc welding

Fall CCA

Unit 6: Gas Metal Arc Welding  (5 Weeks)

-proper set-up procedure for gas metal arc welding

-fillet and groove welds in all positions

Unit 7: Welding Project Design (2 Weeks)

-fabricate a variety of welded projects with minimal assistance

Unit 8: Employability Skills (4 Week)

-work collaboratively with other students

Abrasive saw safety exam and hand held grinder

Unit 9: Career & Professional Development (3 Weeks)

-acceptable work ethics in reporting for duty and performing assigned tasks as directed

-business practices such as policies, procedures, and health and safety rules

-General shop safety and Personal protection equipment exam

-Equipment maintenance and inspection

-Using jigs and guides to make cuts using the torch and plasma cutter

-Metal coupons making the various joints and positions using SMAW.

Required Project:

- Metal coupons making the various joints and positions using GMAW and FCAW.

- Metal coupons producing various joints and positions using GTAW
