-components of oxy-fuel gas cutting system

-safe handling of compressed gases

Unit 4: Plasma Arc Cutting (4 Weeks)

-components of plasma arc cutting

-correct set-up procedure for plasma arc cutting

Unit 6: Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) (6 Week)

-determine appropriate electrodes for base metal in shielded metal arc welding

 

 

Fall CCA

Unit 7: Gas Metal Arc Welding  (4 Weeks)

-proper set-up procedure for gas   metal arc welding

-safe operating practices

Unit 8: Fluxed Core Arc Welding (4 Weeks)

-effects that weld angle, work angle, and electrode extension have on welds

-proper set-up procedure for flux   cored arc welding

-appropriate filler metal for base metal in flux cored arc welding

Unit 9: Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (1 Week)

-common types of tungsten and filler metals according to the AWS identification system

-welds on metals such as carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum
