Unit 1 Professionalism/Fundamentals 

• Effective professional Communication-Email communication that is professional, but not AI alone.

Unit 2: Functions and Foundations of Marketing

• Define the marketing concept 

• Describe each marketing function and the connection to the marketing concept

• Explain how each part of the marketing mix contributes to successful marketing

• Illustrate the importance of marketing strategies in the marketing mix

• Explain the importance of target markets

• Compare and contrast advantages and disadvantages of market segmentation and mass marketing

• Distinguish between geographic, demographic, psychographic and behavioral segmentation

• Explain the nature of marketing planning

• Relate product-mix strategies to meet customer expectations

• Define the product life cycle

 

Unit 3: Math in Marketing

• Use real-life marketing examples involving calculations involving money, time, materials and data 

• Interpret charts and graphs to make informed marketing decisions

• Use formulas and equations to determine price, profit, costs, and break-even point

• Create mathematical models for real-life situations and determine rate of change mathematically

Unit 4: Economics in Marketing

• Define characteristics of economic goods and services

• Identify economic needs and wants

• Explain the concept of utility and cite examples of types of utility

• Describe the function of prices in markets and clarify how supply and demand affects prices

• Compare and contrast how economies answer basic economic questions

• Explain why most economies are mixed and determine the relationship between government and business

• Determine characteristics of a private enterprise system and explain its advantages and disadvantages

• Identify- examples of competitive business situations such as price or nonprice competition

• Identify economic measurements used to analyze and economy and describe how they are used in a market economy

• Explain how pricing affects product, place, and promotion decisions

• Compare and contrast pricing policies and calculate a product’s price

• Describe the role of business ethics in pricing and analyze legal considerations for pricing

 

Unit 8: Business Risks and Workplace Protection

• Categorize business risks and interpret how various types of risks impact business activities

• Evaluate security precautions and demonstrate knowledge of safety precautions in the workplace
