Unit 3: - Sanitation - Safe work practices - Safety glasses -Proper tool usage -Proper shop attire -Shop layout and evacuation routes - Proper use of respirator -Asphyxiation dangers and prevention -Fire extinguisher use -Safety data sheets -Intro to Occupational Safety and Health Admin. (OSHA) - General Safety Rules
Unit 4 : -Use of safety glasses -Tool box and equipment storage. -Introduce wrenches, socket handles, line wrench, screwdriver and specialty tools | Unit 5 : -Reintegrate use of safety glasses -Introduce impact wrenches, air ratchet, impact sockets, air compressor, air hammer, electric drill, bench grinder, air drill and other shop equipment Unit 6: -Overview of engine design, accessory systems, aerodynamics, all-wheel drive, computer systems, assemblies, unibody construction, body over frame construction, drivetrain, chassis construction, independent suspension Unit 7 : -Overview of fasteners, non-threaded fasteners, torquing bolts and nuts, thread repair, gasket, sealer and seals, and cleaning solvents Fall CCA | Unit 8: -Overview of compression ratio, horsepower, engine torque, force, work and power, engine displacement, brake horsepower, and dynamometer load Unit 9: -Overview of atomic structure, magnetism, electrical circuits, voltage, current and resistance Discuss Ohm’s law Explain series and parallel circuits Unit10:

Unit 12: - Identify tire and wheel assembly -Discuss pneumatic, types and sizes, tire rating and designations -Explain tire and wheel construction, lug nuts, lug studs, air pressure, wheel balancing, wheel bearing assemblies and hub assemblies Unit 13: -Requirements for end of year shop cleanup including cleaning and organization of hand and power tools, chemical storage equipment clean and service, storage of equipment and proper recycle of used auto parts -Final exam review Spring CCA |
