Ryan Purtell - Principal
Ryan Purtell became the 2nd Principal of Stevens High School in January of 2019. Prior to becoming an administrator, he taught a variety of Social Studies classes and was a boys athletic coach. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from Tarleton State University and his Master of Education degree from Lamar University. He was drawn to the Stevens community after having lived in the area for many years. Mr. Purtell is committed to “Challenging Up” every Stevens student to ensure they reach their potential and positively impact their community and the world. His wife, Ashley, is a Northside teacher and all three of his daughters are Northside students.

Wendy Reyes - Associate Principal

Wendy Reyes has been at Stevens HS as the Vice Principal since 2018. Prior to Stevens, she was an administrator at Marshall High School, Jones Middle School, and Pease Middle School. Her teaching career began at Rudder Middle School where she served as a Social Studies teacher and girls athletics coach. Ms. Reyes also served on the Texas Middle School Association Board of Directors. Ms. Reyes was thrilled to come back to the Stevens Community where she had started her Administration career at Pease. Ms. Reyes is committed to creating a positive school environment where all students can thrive in their academic progress and individual talents. Ms. Reyes resides with her daughter who is a Northside student. Her son is currently serving in the Navy.

Andres Lopez
Academic Dean

Andres Lopez has been a member of the Stevens faculty since 2015.  Prior to becoming the Academic Dean, he served as the English department coordinator and instructional coach. As a teacher at Stevens, he was awarded the 2019 Outstanding Teaching in the Humanities Award and was chosen as the Stevens 2018 Educator of the Year. He continues to serve the students, families, teachers, and community of Stevens with great pride in his role as Academic Dean.
