She earned her undergraduate degree from Texas State University and completed her Masters Degree at Wayland Baptist University in Educational Leadership.
Her work experience includes teaching for 16 years of her career. Mrs. Fernandez's administrative experience began at Taft High School. She has served as an assistant principal, a vice principal and now the principal for Taft High School.
Mrs. Fernandez has been married for 25 years and has two daughters, both of which have attended Northside schools.
Mrs. Fernandez recognizes the diversity of learning styles among our students and believes in providing a variety of strategies to make learning accessible to all students. Each student should have a stimulating educational environment where they can grow physically, mentally, emotionally and socially. As principal she strives to provide a safe environment where students are comfortable, challenged, and can reach their full potential. Teachers work in Professional Learning Communities and incorporate the Fundamental Five best teaching practices She knows every classroom has its own unique community and strongly believes in the school vision of : Every Student Every Day.

After his service in the United States Marine Corps, Mr. Halle worked as a police officer in the Houston area. Mr. Halle earned his BA in History from the UTSA and his Master of Science in Educational Administration from Texas A&M-Kingsville. Mr. Halle believes that every student deserves the opportunity to succeed and every student can succeed. Mr. Halle feels very lucky to work with the community, students and staff on campus, and he is very proud to be a Taft Raider.
