Mr. Hernandez earned his Bachelors Degree from UTSA and his Masters Degree in Educational Leadership from Lamar University.
Mr. Hernandez believes in creating a safe and positive campus culture that fosters student growth and achievement.

Jennifer Rios has been at Taft HS as the Associate Principal since September 2022. Prior to being the Associate Principal she served as an Assistant Principal at Taft HS for six years. She began her teaching career 15 years ago at Harlandale HS. She then moved over to NISD in 2012 and taught CTE courses and coached at Brennan HS before moving into administration in 2015.
Mrs. Rios attended the University of The Incarnate Word, earning her Bachelor of Business Administration with a minor in Management. She then obtained her Master's degree in Educational Leadership from Lamar University.
Mrs. Rios believes in building positive relationships and creating a safe environment for all students and staff.

She brings 15 years of educational experience to the role, beginning her career as a teacher in SAISD. Mrs. Ponce then joined Northside ISD, serving as a Spanish teacher at both Holmes and Health Careers High Schools. Her leadership journey continued at Brennan High School, where she served as a Department Coordinator, and subsequently as a 504/Testing Coordinator and Assistant Principal at O’Connor High School.
Mrs. Ponce is a graduate of St. Mary’s University, where she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Spanish with a minor in Sociology. She then obtained her Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership.
Mrs. Ponce believes that when teachers are supported and empowered, students thrive. She is committed to maintaining a culture of academic rigor and innovation at Taft. Mrs. Ponce is a proud graduate of Warren High School and has two daughters attending Los Reyes Elementary.
