The word science is derived from the Latin word, scientia, 'knowledge.'  As stated in the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills, science is the use of evidence to construct testable explanations and predictions of natural phenomena, as well as the knowledge generated through this process. It is the goal of Northside ISD Secondary Science to facilitate learning, instruction, and assessment in each science classroom.
