Wendy Tiemann
Wendy Tiemann - Principal
As a small-town girl, I grew up in Brenham and began Blinn Junior College shortly after graduating from high school. A desire to become a teacher led me to Sam Houston State University where I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Teaching. After nine years teaching elementary students in Texas and in Oklahoma, I decided to pursue a career in administration. I earned my Master of Arts in Educational Administration from Texas A&M in Commerce. In my 20 years as an administrator, I have served at the elementary, middle and high school levels. Serving in a variety of districts at all levels has filled my 29 years with a great deal of experience and I am thrilled to bring this experience to Tomlinson.

It’s all about the kids! I keep children at the heart of my work and strive to know my students and families well. I am excited about creating the campus culture and traditions that will be the
foundation for Tomlinson for years to come. It is my great pleasure and honor to serve as the principal at Tomlinson Elementary!

Welcome to Tomlinson Elementary! I am excited and honored to serve as your Vice Principal. I am definitely a true product of Northside schools having attended Ed Cody Elementary, Pease Middle School, and John Jay High School. After graduating high school, I went on to receive my undergraduate degree in Interdisciplinary Studies at the University of Texas-San Antonio in 2009, and loved education so much, I decided to go back to UTSA to obtain my Masters in Educational Leadership in 2018.

Being blessed to have worked in the school district I grew up in, I taught various grade levels for 11 years before deciding I wanted to make a larger impact on the educational community and move into administration. I have followed strong leaders in NISD, and have helped open three elementary schools by their side at Langley, Lieck and Boldt Elementary. I was even blessed to meet my beautiful wife, Edna, along the way.

Being of service to 4 elementary schools throughout the years, there are many differences in communities, but they all share one thing in common. It really is all about the kids, and we are happy to serve and ensure every student receives a strong, quality education, as I did, here in Northside. I am excited to embark on this journey with you all, and help welcome everyone to our Tomlinson family.
