Andrew Morris - Principal
It is my privilege to serve the students, parents, teachers, and our wonderful Valley Hi community as your Principal.

Welcome Valley Hi Students and Parents,

I would like to introduce myself to the Valley Hi community by first explaining how grateful and excited I am to lead the Valley Hi Family. This is my 16th year in education (all at Northside). I spent my first nine years as a special education teacher and campus coordinator at Knowlton Elementary School. In the spring of 2013 I was fortunate enough to finish my Masters Degree program through NISD and UTSA and graciously accepted the position at Valley Hi as the administrative intern. Next, I was honored with being appointed the Vice Principal at Valley Hi. In March of 2016 I was named as the Principal of Valley Hi. There is no place I would rather be. My drive to become an administrator comes from my strong desire to leave a positive legacy of making a difference in children's lives along with the outlying community. Administration gives me the opportunity to reach hundreds of children a year in comparison to 20-24 in the classroom. I believe in the philosophy that you love students first and educate them second.

I am from the great state of Illinois and have lived in San Antonio since 2002. I have 5 children and a dedicated wife. Included in our family is a 4 year old, a 9 year old, a 12 year old, an 18 year old, and a 19 year old. All my children are or were NISD students. I am a very Die Hard Chicago Bears Fan and I also follow the Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bull quite frequently.

Hello Valley Hi families! My name is Stacey Winton and I am honored to begin my fifth year as the Associate Principal at Valley Hi Elementary. The 2020-2021 school year will be my fifteenth year in education. I began my career in North East ISD at Windcrest Elementary School where I taught Fourth Grade for three years. In 2009, I came to Northside ISD and taught Fourth and Fifth Grade at Carlos Coon Elementary for 6 years. While at Carlos Coon Elementary, I began working on my Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership through the UTSA/NISD Cohort. In the Fall of 2019, I returned to UTSA to begin the Superintendent Certificate program. After successfully completing this program during the Summer of 2020, I was accepted into the Educational Leadership Doctoral Program at UTSA. I will begin this program during the 2020 Fall Semester.

I am a native Texan and have lived in San Antonio for my entire life. I graduated from Madison High School and earned my Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s Degree, and Superintendent Certification from UTSA. I am a very proud UTSA Alumna and try to attend as many Roadrunner football games as I can. Of course, I also love my San Antonio Spurs! In my spare time, I love to travel, shop, and spend time with my friends, family, and dogs.

I am looking forward to another year of working with the Valley Hi staff, students, and families. Although this school year will look very different due to the current pandemic, our goal at Valley Hi remains the same. We will work collaboratively to best support our Woodchucks. We will continue to build strong relationships and ensure that every child in every classroom (both virtual and in-person) will be pushed to achieve high levels of academic excellence every day at Valley Hi. Please feel free to contact me if you have any suggestions, questions, or concerns. At Valley Hi, we are “Back. Better. Together.”
