Welcome Valley Hi Students and Parents,
I would like to introduce myself to the Valley Hi community by first explaining how grateful and excited I am to lead the Valley Hi Family. This is my 16th year in education (all at Northside). I spent my first nine years as a special education teacher and campus coordinator at Knowlton Elementary School. In the spring of 2013 I was fortunate enough to finish my Masters Degree program through NISD and UTSA and graciously accepted the position at Valley Hi as the administrative intern. Next, I was honored with being appointed the Vice Principal at Valley Hi. In March of 2016 I was named as the Principal of Valley Hi. There is no place I would rather be. My drive to become an administrator comes from my strong desire to leave a positive legacy of making a difference in children's lives along with the outlying community. Administration gives me the opportunity to reach hundreds of children a year in comparison to 20-24 in the classroom. I believe in the philosophy that you love students first and educate them second.
I am from the great state of Illinois and have lived in San Antonio since 2002. I have 5 children and a dedicated wife. Included in our family is a 4 year old, a 9 year old, a 12 year old, an 18 year old, and a 19 year old. All my children are or were NISD students. I am a very Die Hard Chicago Bears Fan and I also follow the Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bull quite frequently.
The Vice-Principal also serves as the Campus Behavior Coordinator. They can be reached by email at email@example.com or by phone at 210-397-0365.Hello Valley Hi families! My name is Stacey Winton and I am honored to begin my fourth year as the Vice Principal at Valley Hi. The 2019-2020 school year will be my fourteenth year in education. I began my career in Northeast ISD at Windcrest Elementary School where I taught Fourth Grade for three years. In 2009, I came to Northside ISD and taught Fourth and Fifth Grade at Carlos Coon Elementary for 6 years. While at Carlos Coon Elementary, I began working on my master’s degree through the UTSA/NISD Cohort. After graduating from UTSA in 2014, I was hired to be the Administrative Intern at Colonies North Elementary for the 2015-2016 school year. This year I will be returning to UTSA to begin working on my Superintendent Certificate, as well as a PhD in Educational Leadership.
I am a native Texan and have lived in San Antonio for my entire life. I graduated from Madison High School and earned my Bachelor’s Degree and Master's Degree from UTSA. I am a very proud UTSA Alumni and try to attend as many Roadrunner Football games as I can. Of course, I also love my San Antonio Spurs! In my spare time, I love to travel and spend time with my family, friends, and dogs.
I am looking forward to another year of working with the Valley Hi staff, students, and families. At Valley Hi our goal is to work collaboratively to best support our little Woodchucks. We believe in building strong relationships and ensuring that every child in every classroom will be pushed to achieve high levels of academic excellence every day at Valley Hi. Please feel free to stop by my office to visit or discuss any questions/concerns you may have. Together we will make the 2019-2020 school year a successful one and prove that Valley Hi is the Place to Be!
