Carl Wanke Elementary Library Program Mission:

The Wanke Library mission is to provide a diverse collection for our community,

create independent learners and to be the hub for learning and collaboration.

Students and parents are able to visit the library 7:30-2:45.  Students may visit with their parents before school and parents may visit throughout the day.

Classes visit once every eight school days.  Students are also able to visit throughout any school day, individually, with a library pass from their teacher.

All books are due within 10 days of being checked out.

Pre K and  Kinder - Students can check out 1 book
1st through 5th - Students can check out 2 books

Parents/guardians can check out up to 5 books at a time for 10 days. They can come in with their child in the morning before school to check out/return books if they'd like to browse with them, but they can also come in by themselves anytime during the school day when the library is open.

Parents/guardians need to fill out a form so that Mrs. Lockhart can create a family account for you. You can pick up the form in the library or use this Google Form to fill out.

Hello everyone! I am excited to be the librarian here at Wanke Elementary. This is my sixth year as the librarian and my thirteenth year in education. 

I have my Bachelor's Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of the Incarnate Word and my Master's Degree in Library Sciences from Sam Houston University.
