Reading is a lifelong skill that builds a robust vocabulary, broadens horizons, and opens doors to academic success. Fostering a love of reading is one of the most powerful gifts parents and educators can give to students.

Library Material Reconsideration
Under Texas Education Code (TEC) §33.027, a parent, district employee, or person residing in a school district may submit a written reconsideration to any library material in a school’s library catalog. To submit a written reconsideration, an eligible individual must complete and submit the Library Materials Reconsideration Form.
Please fully complete the form below (electronically or on paper) and return to the principal for the campus from which the concern originated. A Library Material Review Committee will be formed to consider this complaint, and their report will be forwarded to the Board of Trustees for a final decision. You will be made aware of all steps in this process, permitted to testify during the meeting of the Library Material Review Committee, and a copy of the final decision will be sent to you.
You may submit an appeal to the Board of Trustees regarding the decision. To do so, please request the Library Materials Reconsideration Appeal Form from the Deputy Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction.
