As part of the NISD Strings program, 5th graders learn to play the Violin, Viola, Cello, or Bass. Taught by Mr. Gonzalez, the Orchestra Director of Bernal Middle School, students meet Tuesdays and Thursdays 3:15 - 4:00 in the music room at Wernli Elementary. Performance opportunities at Wernli Elem and Bernal MS.

This year's levy to fund maintenance and operations expenditures exceeds last year's maintenance and operations tax levy.
Northside Independent School District ADOPTED A TAX RATE THAT WILL RAISE MORE TAXES FOR MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS THAN LAST YEAR'S TAX RATE.
THE TAX RATE WILL EFFECTIVELY BE RAISED BY 1.05 PERCENT AND WILL RAISE TAXES FOR MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS ON A $100,000 HOME BY APPROXIMATELY $30.00.
