Northside ISD continues to enforce its “No Shots, No School” policy. Texas law requires all public school children have current immunizations in order to attend class.

Tom Knapp Principal
Tom Knapp - Principal
Tom Knapp is the principal of Westwood Terrace Elementary School. He has been
an educator for 27 years and has been serving the students and families
of Northside Independent School District for the last 20 years.

“As a child growing up in a family of teachers, I knew that working in education was my passion. I value the importance of early literacy and strive to make a difference by helping to educate tomorrow’s decision makers. The key to our success is to develop meaningful relationships with students and families and to provide the necessary support for the most important adults on our campus – the classroom teachers.”

He is the proud father of two daughters, Monet and Brooke and a dedicated husband to his wife, Misty, of 12 years.

Sandra Estrada Associate Principal
Sandra Estrada - Associate Principal

The Associate Principal also serves as the Campus Behavior Coordinator. They can be reached by email at sandra.estrada@nisd.net or by phone at 210-397-70315.

Sandra Estrada is the Associate Principal at Westwood Terrace. She received her Bachelor's and Master's degree from the University of Texas at El Paso and her Certification in Administration from the University of Texas at San Antonio.

Mrs. Estrada is certified in Elementary Self-Contained Grades (1-6), Elementary Early Childhood Education Grades (PK-6), Bilingual/ESL Grades (PK-6) and Principal Grades (EC-12).

Mrs. Estrada has 31 years of experience in education. She began her career as a classroom teacher with the Ysleta ISD in El Paso, Texas teaching Pre-K through 2nd grade. She has spent the last 18 years with Northside ISD as a classroom teacher, academic support teacher and Vice Principal.

In her spare time, Mrs. Estrada and her husband, spend time with their three granddaughters.
