STEM Education in Northside ISD
Northside ISD’s STEM Education program provides students with hands-on, real-world learning experiences that integrate science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Through inquiry-based instruction, problem solving, and design thinking, students develop critical thinking and collaboration skills that prepare them for future academic and career success.
At the elementary level, each campus has a dedicated STEM lab where students participate in activities and design challenges that spark curiosity and creativity using knowledge from classroom instruction and tied to a variety of STEM careers.

Our school vision is to “empower our community to love learning and each other”. We believe in a growth mindset mentality to build our students up academically and emotionally. A big part of this includes finding innovative ways to educate our students.
In STEM, students use their critical thinking skills to engineer and explore the world around them. Burke Bears in Kinder through fifth grade have continuous lessons throughout the year on the Engineering Design Process, Coding, Digital Citizenship, Environmental Engineering, Computer Engineering, Robotics, and Aerospace Engineering. Burke Bears are learning skills in STEM that will help them to develop a growth mindset and make an impact on the world around them.
