Marissa Peña, EdD - Principal
It is my pleasure to serve as the Principal of Burke Elementary. I received my Bachelors Degree from The University of Texas at Austin, Masters at Texas State University, and Doctorate at The University of Texas at San Antonio. This is my 20th year in education, and most recently served as the Vice Principal at Burke. I have two children, Jacob and Ava, who are my world. We also have 3 dogs, a cockatiel, and a guinea pig.
As Principal, my goal is to ensure that students feel both safe and loved while at school. Burke is an amazing place to be, and I'm so happy to be a part of this community.

Hi Burke Bears! My Name is Sara Mireles and it is my great pleasure to serve our staff, students, and our community as the Associate Principal here at Burke Elementary! I received my Bachelors in Interdisciplinary Studies and my Masters in Administration and Policy Studies from The University of Texas at San Antonio. I have taught 2nd-4th grades, and more recently I have served as the administrator intern at John Glenn Elementary. I am married and have a daughter, a son, and a dog who all keep me very busy! I am excited to get to know each of our students as well as their families, and I look forward to working together to ensure the success of every student!

Recibí mi Licenciatura en EstudiosInterdisciplinarios y mi Maestría en Estudios de Política y Administración dela Universidad de Texas en San Antonio.
