CommArts English department is vertically aligned to scaffold the skills students will need to be successful in more advanced courses and college.
Our students take English I and II at the advanced level. English III AP is a writing course focused on the language of composition, looking at rhetorical analysis and argumentation. English IV AP is a literature course, focusing on a study of poetry and prose and literary analysis. Both English III and English IV are also available as AP Dual Credit courses, earning college credit through Northwest Vista College.
Our goal as a department is to have our students read closely, think critically, and write analytically, preparing them for a successful future.
