Temporary Closure

Northside Threads will be closed Monday, November 23, through Friday, November 27. Regular shopping hours will resume on Monday, November 30.

What is Northside Threads?

Northside Threads is a clothing closet created by the NISD Family Engagement Program in partnership with community volunteers. It serves students and families across the district who need clothing support.

Our Mission

To remove barriers to school attendance by providing students with clothing that helps them feel confident, comfortable, and ready to learn.

What do students receive?

Each student may select:

Five tops
Five bottoms
New socks
New underwear

Who is eligible?

Currently enrolled students in need of clothing support may access Northside Threads at no cost with a referral from their school counselor.

How many visits are allowed per school year?

Students may be eligible for up to two shopping visits per school year, depending on specific criteria. The first visit is available with a counselor referral.

What are the requirements for a second visit?

To qualify for a second visit within the same school year, students must:

Be currently enrolled in a Northside ISD school
Have no more than two unexcused absences per month
Have at least three months between visits

Donations

Help support our students! We welcome donations of new and gently used clothing for students ages 3–22.

Girls’ jean sizes: All youth sizes - 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18, 20

Boys' Clothing:

Boys’ jean sizes: All youth sizes - 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18, 20
Young Men's jeans sizes: 28 (width) thru 42+ (width)

We also gratefully accept monetary donations, which help us purchase new socks, underwear, and other clothing items as needed. Donations may be made by check and dropped off or mailed directly to the Family Engagement Center.
