I would like to welcome you to an exciting new year! My name is Jennifer Hammond, and I am honored to serve as your Principal at Fields. This is my 28th year in education and my seventh year serving as an Elementary Principal. I would like to extend a warm welcome to you as we begin this new school year. At Fields Elementary we practice the Growth Mindset. This is a belief system that suggests that one’s intelligence and/or talents can be grown or developed with persistence, effort, and a focus on learning. Our focus is on grit, perseverance, and the power of yet. We love what we do and do what we love! Our goal is to provide our students with an excellent education, in a safe, caring, respectful and rigorous learning environment. We are also committed to building a strong partnership with our parents and community.
With a positive attitude, support from home, and exemplary teaching and learning in school, your child will blossom. Together we will create life-long learners who will make their mark on the world! We also encourage you to unite with us in advocating for our students by joining and being active in the PTA. I can’t wait to meet you and work closely with each one of you. It is going to be a great year!
