Cross Country

Sponsor: Coach Turner & Coach Obeid

Cross Country is a sport that involves competing at a distance of 3.1 miles. If you are serious about Cross Country your season is made in the Summer and you should begin your training now. Captain practices begin early August. Official tryouts will be August 5, 2024. For tryouts, you are expected to be able to run 2 miles under 20 minutes without walking.  Tryouts/Practices are held at Health Careers High School on weekdays at 7:30am from August 5-August 19, 2024.  Meets are usually held Saturday mornings. Beginning Monday, August 19 (the first day of school) practices begin at 6:30am and will continue until the end of the season.  During the season the period will be used as a study hall. Once the season is over, early morning practices will end and the athletes will practice during their Cross Country class period.  This will prepare the athletes for both Track season and the next Cross Country season. If you are interested in participating on the Cross Country team, please add the app SPORTSYOU and sign up using the code: PC73-AB7Q and you will receive all the necessary information regarding Cross Country tryouts/practices/gatherings/etc.
