Jay Sumpter - Principal
Mr. Sumpter completed his Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology and Teaching Certificate in Biology and General Science at Indiana University and entered the teaching profession in 1992. His Master of Education Degree was earned from Lamar University in 2009. During his eleven years as classroom teacher, Mr. Sumpter taught a variety of courses including five different science courses including the development of three new course offerings. Mr. Sumpter assumed the role of Assistant Director for the Science and Engineering Academy (SEA) in the fall of 2006 and was named Principal of the SEA in 2010. Mr. Sumpter was appointed as the Principal of John Jay High School in 2016. He is very excited to be a part of the tradition of excellence as the new Principal of Health Careers High School.

Jennifer Jordan - Associate Principal

Ms. Jennifer Jordan has been an educator since 1986 and has been a teacher, counselor, and administrator. Ms. Jordan has brought a vast amount of experience to our campus in many areas including magnet schools and vocation education, and her work on comprehensive high school campuses has exposed her to a wide variety of responsibilities. Her background as a marketing teacher is a great asset in our recruiting efforts.
