Campus Notes

Student ID Badges

Jones students are expected to wear their ID badges while on campus. All 7th and 8th graders who were on campus last year were issued student IDs. They will need to begin wearing them daily starting Monday, August 31. Sixth graders and other students who are new to campus will receive badges next week. Any student who has lost their ID can purchase a replacement for $5.

Last Week's Parent Meeting

Jones Middle School families came together last week for information and campus updates. The slides from the meeting are linked below. Highlights from the meeting include:

  • Families can join PTA to help support our campus community.
  • The Jones counseling team is available to provide family resources or support students.
  • Jones Middle School offers several high school credit classes. Those courses have an attendance requirement, semester exams, and the grade will factor into the student's GPA.
  • Jay Science & Engineering Academy (SEA) will begin accepting applications in Novembers. STEM Magnet students have automatic admission to SEA, and all students can apply to the magnet high school.
  • Jones STEM is always recruiting parent volunteers to help chaperone field trips. Parents can complete the NISD Background Check Form and then submit the Field Trip Volunteer Form.
  • Jones Middle School benefits from federal Title I funds that help provide staff and resources to benefit our campus and community.

Magnet Family Bowling Night

Coming up October 6

We are thrilled to invite you to our STEM Bowling Party! Bandera Bowling needs a preliminary headcount for lane reservations. Please RSVP by September 29th. This is a soft RSVP, so if an additional sibling would like to join us on the day of the party, they are more than welcome. You will pay Bandera Bowling based on the actual number of bowlers.

Location: Bandera Bowling, 6700 Huebner Road, San Antonio, TX 78238
Date: Tuesday, October 6th, 2025
Cost: $6.50 (includes 2 games and shoe rental)
Time: 6:00-8:00 PM

You will pay on site when you arrive. Please RSVP with this form to give us an approximate count.


Tax Rate Notice
This year's levy to fund maintenance and operations expenditures exceeds last year's maintenance and operations tax levy.
Northside Independent School District ADOPTED A TAX RATE THAT WILL RAISE MORE TAXES FOR MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS THAN LAST YEAR'S TAX RATE.
THE TAX RATE WILL EFFECTIVELY BE RAISED BY 1.05 PERCENT AND WILL RAISE TAXES FOR MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS ON A $100,000 HOME BY APPROXIMATELY $30.00.
