I am beyond excited to serve as Associate Principal at Charles Kuentz Jr. Elementary! From the time I was 7 years old, I knew I was going to become a teacher. I grew up in Illinois and graduated with my Bachelor's Degree from Illinois State University. I moved to San Antonio, TX in 1996 to pursue my career in teaching with Northside. I taught 4th and 5th grade at McDermott Elementary and 5th grade at Beard Elementary. I also went back to school and graduated with a Master's Degree in Educational Leadership from UTSA.
After 20 years in elementary, I decided to make the move to Rawlinson Middle School in the fall of 2016 where I taught 6th and 7th grade GT ELA and was the GT Specialist before becoming the ELA Coordinator and teaching 7th grade. After 25 years in the classroom, I decided it was time to step into more of an administrative role and was hired as the Student Services Facilitator at Rawlinson.
While middle school was an amazing experience, I realized that my heart truly belongs in elementary school. So, I quickly made my way back and am blessed to call Kuentz Elementary my school home! Students are at the core of our work each and every day. Each child's success and well-being is what drives me to be the best I possibly can. I look forward to working with the Kuentz community and building lasting relationships!
