Chorus is an ensemble where students learn techniques and skills to sing in a bigger ensemble. Any 4th or 5th grader is welcome, regardless of singing talent, and we will have a minimum of two performances to showcase the songs we have worked on!

EcoFriends is an after school program where 4th and 5th grade students at Kuentz Elementary learn about the importance of caring for our environment through various projects as well as taking care of our garden while having FUN! Members have the opportunity to brainstorm solutions to real-world problems pertaining to how we can protect and make the environment better such as reusing materials that may be considered trash and composting to help provide nutrient-rich soil to our school garden.

The purpose of our student safety patrol is to give 5th grade students the opportunity to be servant leaders by helping all Coyotes feel safe and welcomed. Patrols serve before and/or afterschool, helping to build community and trust.

Solar Cars is an after school program for 5th graders who are interested in gears, motors and alternative energies. Students design, build, test and improve a working car that will be powered with a solar panel. They will compete in a large race day to showcase their design. We meet on Thursdays in the Spring semester from 3:10-4:10 in room B110. Race day will be Saturday, April 20, 2024.

STEAM Team is an afterschool club designed to encourage 3rd grade students to think creatively and, more importantly: work as a team. The challenge each year is to design a type of Rube Goldberg machine. The machines: fun, intricate, and humorous are designed to perform simple tasks like pop a balloon or ring a bell. Only 10 students can be a part of STEAM Team, so a drawing will be held to determine who will participate. The tuition for this club is free.

Students learn how to play a string instrument (violin, viola, cello, or bass). We learn the basic skills on how to play such as holding the instrument, using the bow, the difference between plucking and bowing, how to read music, and how to follow a conductor. This course happens year round and the students will have multiple performance opportunities throughout the year.

Student Council is a group of elected and volunteer 4th and 5th grade students, working together with an adult advisor within the framework of a constitution or bylaws, to provide a means for student voice and assistance in school affairs and activities, and to give opportunities for student experience in leadership and encourage student / faculty / community relations. We seek to represent and be representative of all students in the school, to build a school where students and staff want to be, and to develop leaders who continually work to shape a better world for all.

Young Astronauts is an after-school science enrichment program for fourth and/or fifth grade students. The topic changes each year, and all lessons and activities focus on building student interest and understanding in the area of space science. The program culminates in February with our annual Stargazing event for fifth grade Young Astronaut.
