At Virginia A. Myers Elementary, we believe that all children can learn through the use of effective teaching practices, differentiated instruction, and character education. All children will be challenged to become life-long learners by achieving success in their academic and social lives.
I am excited and honored to lead and serve our Eagles Community.
My career spans 15 years in education, but it did not start there. I am a true Northside product having attended Ed Cody ES, Pease MS, and John Jay High School.
Shortly after graduating from John Jay High School, I attended UT-San Antonio where I earned my Bachelor's in Interdisciplinary Studies. After 10 years teaching elementary students in 2nd, 3rd and 4th grade, I decided to pursue a career in administration at UTSA where I earned my Master's in Educational Leadership in 2018.
Along the way, I have been fortunate to assist in the opening of four Northside elementary campuses in Langley, Lieck, Boldt, and Tomlinson. I have also served at Mead and McDermott Elementary in leadership capacities. It was at Boldt Elementary where I met my beautiful wife, Edna, and she has been my number one supporter and cheerleader throughout my career.
Being of service to six elementary schools throughout the years, I have observed that while there are many differences in communities, they all share one thing in common. It really is all about the kids no matter where we go in Northside ISD, and I am happy to serve and ensure every student receives a strong, quality education as I did here in Northside.
It is my great pleasure to work alongside our Myers staff, students, families, and community businesses in order for our children to thrive both academically and socially. I want to work with you every day to preserve the culture of this beautiful community.
I am excited to embark on this journey with you all and am grateful for the opportunity to lead alongside our very passionate Eagles family.
The Associate Principal also serves as the Campus Behavior Coordinator. They can be reached by email at Veronica.Segovia-Cadena@nisd.net or by phone at 210-397-6650.
Hello! My name is Veronica Segovia-Cadena and I am the proud Associate Principal at Myers Elementary! It gives me great pleasure to serve the students, staff, and parents at Myers!
I earned my Masters Degree at The University of Texas at San Antonio. I have been a Vice-Principal in Northside for several years and love to watch our kiddos grow throughout their time at Myers. I welcome you to Myers for a visit so that you can see the high levels of learning taking place each day. I enjoy my time with my daughter, my husband, and my dog Bowzer. We love spending time together doing various activities. I encourage you to swing by at anytime to enjoy lunch with your child or spend time at one of our fun events at Myers!
