Extracurriculars

All incoming 7th grade athletes are required to have a physical before trying out for any athletic team, along with filling out all the other athletic forms.

For all incoming 8th grade athletes who turned in a physical to their coach last year as 7th graders, that physical is still good for your 8th grade year. However,  all other athletic forms must be re-submitted.

GIRLS TRACK INFORMATION 2020

*Athletes interested in participating in track must have a current physical and additional paperwork on file before practicing. Paperwork must be turned in by February 7TH, 2020. Daily Practices:

*First day of after school practice is set for February 10, 2020. (4:00-5:15. Please arrange to be picked up between 5:15 and 5:30) *All athletes must be present every day and show up ready to work hard. Quality workouts are expected from each individual.

*All athletes will wear their Rawlinson PE/athletic clothes to practice. Rawlinson track sweats will only be issued to athletes going to the meet. All athletes must be prepared for practices in cold weather. (sweats, layered clothing)

*Hair must be pulled back. (No long bangs hanging over face.)

*Each athlete must have shoes appropriate for running and jumping.

*All athletes are expected to follow all school rules and any policies put in place by the coaches. Failure to do so may result in the athlete not being able to participate that week, or dismissal from the track program. Disciplinary action is the coaches’ discretion.

*Practices begin at 4:00 p.m. daily. Athletes must dress quickly and be in gym by 4:00.

*If you are going to be absent, or miss practice for any reason, you must contact one of the coaches in writing and let them know before practice. If you do not, that will count as an unexcused absence. If you have 3 unexcused absences, you will no longer be allowed to participate in track this year.

*Workouts will be finished by 5:15 p.m. (Some events may finish earlier) Athletes must walk home or be picked up no later than 5:30 p.m. General Information:

*All participants will be required to complete a running and/or conditioning workout, regardless of their event.

*If you are selected to be in a relay, you must stay after your workout in order to work on handoffs if needed. (You will still be finished by 5:15.)

*Any equipment issued is the responsibility of the athlete and should only be worn to track meets. If anything is lost, the athlete is required to pay for replacement of the lost item.

Meets: *Meets begin at 4:45. The dates of the meets are as follows, 2/18,2/25,3/3,3/18, and 3/25 (only athletes that finish 1st through 4th place on 3/18 will compete on 3/25). All athletes will ride to and from the meet on the bus. *An area will be designated a “team camp” for participants and coaches. If the athlete is not warming up for an event, she must be at the “team camp”. *Participants will be selected by time trials. Only participants will go to the meet.
