IMPORTANT ATHLETIC INFORMATION

If your child is interested in trying out for a sport next year, or is enrolled in 7th or 8th grade athletics, there is mandatory paperwork that must be completed before they can be eligible to participate.

An athlete cannot try out for a sport before completing ALL UIL paperwork found on the parent portal. (link below)

STUDENTS NEW TO ATHLETICS:

All incoming 7th graders or any student that did not have a medical physical last year MUST complete a medical physical and give a copy to the head coach on their campus.  The physical form can be printed from the parent portal, or from the links provided at the bottom of this information sheet. The medical history form must be completed online.  Print the completed medical history and the physical form and take both of those papers with you to the doctor when you get your physical. Make a copy of the medical physical and turn it into the head coach.  You do not need to turn in medical history, but must complete it online.

RETURNING ATHLETES  (INCLUDING INCOMING 9TH GRADERS):

If an athlete has a physical on file from last year, it is not required for them to complete another medical physical.  However, they MUST log in to the parent portal and complete all required paperwork online.  The medical history must also be completed online. (Athletes do not need to bring a copy of the medical history to their coach, after completing it online. The Head Coach will review it and approve it online. If another physical is needed to be cleared, the coach will let you know.  Incoming 9th graders:  medical history will be reviewed by the high school trainer. If another physical is required in order to be cleared, the trainer will let you know.)

Theatre Arts

Andrew Childers (Director)

In Theatre Arts, students will explore their use of creative expression with a strong knowledge of theatrical elements. Studying the historical and cultural relevance of theater in the past and present. Our thespians collaborate to craft and shape their own theatrical works, as well as participate in various performance opportunities. Students will learn through doing by working in production roles in many school programs and competitions. See what our fellow Patriot Thespians are up to and support.

From learning drills to executing routines, they can do anything when putting their minds to it. Catch the Star Dancers performing at local Northside ISD football games, events and recitals. Come out and support our dancers as they kick to the moon.

Art

Unleash your creativity when taking Art at Rawlinson Middle School. Students learn the concepts of drawing painting, and everything involving a type of art. It's amazing to see how creative our fellow Patriots are, and how art is their super power. Now pick up a paintbrush, pencil and get to it!

Intramurals Sports logo

Northside ISD introduced the Intramural Program in 1992. The after-school program involves all middle schools and Health Careers High School and it is a place for students to enjoy recreational activity in the form of organized sports and tournaments at no cost to the family.

The 28-day program is available November thru March and will be led by campus teachers. Each campus will implement a schedule prior to the season beginning.

Please contact the front office for more information.

There are 7,151 languages that are spoken around the world. Out of all languages, we offer Spanish as a course here at Rawlinson MS. Students may take this class to receive high school credit. Patriots will have many opportunities to refine their spanish skills by reading, speaking, and writing in the curriculum. Having a blast learning about the hispanic culture, heritage and more. It pays to know an extra secondary language.
