Principle Mallard
Brooke Mallard - Principal
Hello and Hola, Ward Wranglers!
I'm Brooke Mallard, and I'm absolutely overjoyed to serve as your new Principal here at Ward!
My education career began in 2010, working with the AVID program in Judson ISD and in Special Education in Northeast ISD. I then joined Northside in 2012, and I've had the privilege of serving as a Special Education Campus Coordinator/Collab Teacher, 1st and 3rd Grade ESL Teacher, Administrator Intern, and most recently before moving into principalship, proud Associate Principal here at Ward Elementary!
Education has always been a passion of mine. I earned both my Bachelor's Degree in Music and my Master's Degree in Elementary Education from the University of the Incarnate Word (Go Cardinals!). I then went on to earn a second Master's Degree in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from the University of Texas at San Antonio (Go Roadrunners!).
Outside of school, I love spending as much time as possible with my wonderful family and finding new shows to watch!
I'm incredibly eager to continue working alongside our amazing students, dedicated staff, supportive families, and the entire Ward community as we reach for new goals this school year. Please know my door is always open – feel free to call or visit anytime. Our students' success is my top priority!

Hello Ward Wranglers!

My name is Maritza Trimble, and I am truly honored to serve as your new Associate Principal! I bring 12 years of experience in education, beginning my journey in Houston as a 5th-grade bilingual teacher in 2013. Since then, I’ve had the privilege of teaching dual language, ESL, and general education across Kindergarten, 1st, 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade. Most recently, I served as a Language Support Teacher (LST) at Burke Elementary.

I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies EC–6 Bilingual from the University of Texas at San Antonio (Bird’s up!) and recently completed my Master’s in Educational Leadership from Lamar University. I am beyond excited to join the Ward family and continue growing alongside this amazing community!

When I’m not at school, I love spending time with my husband and three children. You can usually find us at sporting events, hiking trails, or exploring new places around town.

I am deeply passionate about student success and achievement, and I look forward to partnering with families, teachers, and students to ensure every child reaches their fullest potential. Please know that I am here to support you in any way I can!
