August 28 Magnet Update

What an incredible start to the season as our Global Leaders build new friendships, ignite existing ones, and celebrate what it means to be part of the Zachry Magnet family! We had an absolute blast at Friday’s 6th Grade Social, watching our newest campus leaders connect, collaborate, and set a joyful tone for the year ahead. 

Seeing our community come together reinforces how bright the future is for these emerging cybersecurity and communications leaders.

24 HOURS LEFT - Show your Magnet pride and gear up for the school year before time runs out! The official Zachry Magnet SWAG Store is currently open, but all orders must be finalized by Wednesday. This is your chance to purchase official t-shirts, hoodies, and gear so your Global Leader can represent our program with pride on campus, during field trips, and at community events.

• Deadline: Store closes Wednesday, September 2.
• Apparel Options: T-shirts, hoodies, and official program gear available online.
• Distribution: Orders will be fulfilled and distributed directly on campus once processed.

Our 6th Grade Global Leaders are gearing up for an exciting, hands-on field trip to The DoSeum! To make preparation as convenient as possible for families, we have officially added an electronic payment option through MySchoolBucks.
Please note that team members will be taking photos throughout the trip to document all the interactive learning, problem-solving, and collaboration.

• Electronic Payment: Pay online quickly via the MySchoolBucks link.
• Focus: Interactive STEM, inquiry-based learning, and hands-on discovery.
• Photos: Photo highlights will be captured and shared with families following the event.

Applications are officially open for our 2026–2027 NSITE Mentorship Program, pairing selected 8th graders with 11th grade mentors from the Northside School of Innovation, Technology, & Entrepreneurship. 

Participants will engage in four lunch leadership sessions and an industry partner visit to explore CTE pathways in cybersecurity and software development while building real-world skills for high school success.
