What we do
The Walter Gerlach Livestock Show produced over $1.5 million dollars in scholarships for students last year.
Additional scholarships were awarded totaling over $375,000 from San Antonio Livestock Show, Houston Livestock Show, Texas State Fair, National FFA, Texas FFA, Dick Wallrath FFA Scholarship Texas A&M, Texas Tech. - AG. Endowed & Presidential Scholarship Texas Farm Bureau and the San Antonio Rotary Club.
We offer dual credit courses, allowing students to earn college credit while still in high school.

- Boater Education Certification
- Certified Veterinary Assistant Certification.
Internships
We offer a practicum class with local agriculture businesses which include veterinarians, landscapers, florists, and feed mills.

- January 23, 2026: Deadline to submit applications
- February 2, 2026: Acceptance/waitlist letters emailed
- February 9, 2026: Deadline for families to accept/decline

Mission
The mission of the Agriculture Science & Technology Academy is to provide a hands-on, rigorous education that will equip students for their postsecondary choices. We will focus on responsibility, integrity, and leadership develop- ment through our courses by providing students real world experiences in the fields of Agribusiness, Animal & Plant Sciences, Agricultural Engineering, Environmental & Natural Resources and Veterinary Medicine.
